The choir was formed back in 2005 by John King with the aim of bringing back Choral music to local churches – this is still very much our aim and mantra. The choir was originally attached to the Bleasby, Halloughton, Hoveringham and Thurgarton group of Churches, but after a restructuring it is now joined with Rolleston with Fiskerton, Morton and Upton – the West Trent Benefice. In January 2009 the choir was taken over by Alexander Turner, a student at the Minster School, Southwell, and a Lay Clerk at Southwell Minster.
In addition to singing at the main festivals and weddings, the choir has performed Stainer’s “Crucifixion” (2008 and 2017) and J H Maunder’s “Olivet to Calvary” (2009) and has twice joined forces with the choir at Tickhill Parish Church for Choral Evensongs.
The members of the choir really do appreciate your support and look forward to welcoming you again.
